It's Earth 🌎 Day! We thought we'd chime in with a few of the ways we execute the three R's, "Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling," in our daily work:💨 Our methane digester captures the methane released by cow manure, is cleaned, and makes renewable natural gas. 🚜 The liquid nutrients from the manure are injected into the soil using a big hose called a dragline, cutting down on the number of fossil fueled trucks on the road. 🌱 Precision Agriculture equipment is used to be more efficient and effective when it comes to planting, growing, and harvesting our crops.🐮 The solid part of the cow manure is pressed and dried, to be reused as comfy bedding for the cows in the barn. 💦 Like many other dairy farms, water is reused a few times before it is sent out with nutrients to fertilize and irrigate crops.#EarthDay2023 #adkfarms ...
